This tour takes visitors through the political core of Washington DC! From the original L'Enfant city plan, to the tumultuous construction of the Capitol and Grounds, the rise of the magnificent Beaux Arts Library of Congress and imposing Supreme Court, and into the present day. Prolific designers like Thomas Jefferson, Robert Mills, Frederick Law Olmstead, and Daniel Burnham will feature prominently. Controversy, chaos, and red tape abound! On a two hour walking tour, we'll stroll along Embassy Row and see some of the city's most impressive properties. Stroll with me as we explore historical sites (past and present), uncover interesting truths, and use all 5 senses to do so. Work up a good appetite as we'll end our tour at Ben's Chilli Bowl, an ABSOLUTE staple in DC! To remain flexible, food from Ben's Chilli Bowl is not included in the price of the ticket. This evening bike tour takes you to the National Mall and Potomac Tidal Basin when the monuments are less crowded, the air is cooler, and the views are magnificent. You'll arrive 15 minutes to tour time to check-in and be fitted on your bike. Our hybrid bikes are perfect for city riding and we have a variety of sizes to fit you - no matter how tall or small. Our bikes have a handle bar bag and rack so you can store all the essentials - phone, keys, wallet. We'll head out to the first stop, where we'll stop and your guide will share some history, and unique facts, and perhaps a dark secret or two. Your tour will cover about 5 miles in three hours, making stops at all of the major monuments and memorials on the National Mall and around the Tidal Basin. At each stop, you'll hear from your guide before being given a few minutes to explore on your own and snap a photo or two. Don't worry! Your guide will stick close to the bikes, giving you the freedom to wander a bit. Our tour route will end back at our shop, where our staff can help direct you to your next activity. Or you can, choose to keep your bike and keep exploring on your own (additional cost). Other things to note Arrive for check in 15 minutes prior to tour start time. Join husband-and-wife duo Leo and Monica for an evening of laughter, fun, and fresh pasta, with recipes rolled straight from Leo’s traditional Florentine roots. We'll jump into the pasta-making portion of our class. You’ll learn just how easy it is to whip up a perfect pasta dough, roll it out, shape and fill each delicate nibble with a punchy, flavor-packed filling made from scratch. The class will focus on 3 types of Pasta (Ravioli, Tortellini and Tagliatelle plus some surprise shapes). Every class will last about three hours, at the end of which guests will have dinner with the hosts and taste their creations on the spot! Tortellini, ravioli, tagliatelle, spaghetti – after a few hours in Leo and Monica’s kitchen, you’ll be able to tackle any variety and produce a pasta-piece that tastes even better than it looks. Capture some of the best moments while you're in Washington, DC with your own personal photoshoot. With my experience in fashion photography and understanding of the face angles and body poses, I'd love to show you how uniquely beautiful you are through my camera's lens. Understanding that taking professional photos can be nerve-wrecking sometimes, I will help guide you through the photoshoot, and allow you to step out of your comfort zone. Don't be camera shy, be camera brave! You will get social media worthy shots that will leave all your friends jealous! We will meet in front of the Washington Monument Monument. Then we will walk around the neighborhood, where I will be guiding you through a cool shots of the Monuments. We can also explore hidden gems around the city. Join me for a walking tour of Washington's U Street neighborhood trace the history of the area through its buildings! Once known as Washington’s “Black Broadway,” the U Street corridor has been the civic and cultural heart of the District’s Black community since the turn of the century. Rich in architecture, history and culture, U Street was developed by and for the then segregated Black community of the Federal Capital. Revered Jazz icons like Duke Ellington, Billie Holiday, and Cab Calloway once walked U Street, performing at nightclubs and glamorous music halls in the 1920s, 30s and 40s. Beautiful buildings, largely designed by local Black architects, still stand as a testament to this self-sustaining community. On the residential side streets, a fascinating evolution of row house development and design is evident in the diverse and varied homes, some dating back to the 1860s! We'll begin our tour at the African American Civil War Memorial along bustling U Street, appreciating locally well known anchors of the community, like the Prince Hall Masonic Temple, Bohemian Caverns, Bens Chili Bowl, and the Lincoln Theater. We'll also get off the main drag, exploring side streets and back alleys to get a true sense of this fascinating neighborhood.

Join us for a historic Donut adventure through our nation’s capital, Washington DC. Our tour begins in Western Market, which has a legacy dating back to 1802! There we will sample donuts made from a business that’s been in the same family for five generations. From there we’ll head downtown, where we’ll see a restaurant favored by a former President before passing by the White House itself for a perfect photo op. After soaking in some history at Lafayette Square, we’ll head deeper into DC to try some local fan favorite donuts from local celebrities. From there, we’ll head down Palmers Alley, one of the most photographed spots in DC, where we’ll end our adventure with delectable donuts with an international flavor.
