Separated by distance, I was looking for a place where our family could gather this winter and just enjoy each other’s company. Heirloom Cottage did not disappoint!! The sunny, welcoming rooms were spacious, and the amenities were great. There were so many charming touches everywhere with attention to detail that so enchanted us. The outdoor sauna and spa was a hoot to play in with snow all around. This escape is close enough to the Twin Cities metro area to access city life, and at the same time feel away from it, in a wooded area, which is hard to find. Hosts were wonderful to work with too. I’d highly recommend this magical place.

A perfect, cozy cottage retreat! We enjoyed a peaceful early Thanksgiving with family and felt right at home. The cottage is just as pictured, each bedroom on a different floor providing extra privacy (& bathrooms!). The hot tub and fireplace were the perfect additions to an already cozy abode. We enjoyed the beautiful lake views, nature walks, and birdwatching, as well as the games and puzzles provided. We didn't experience any bugs or noise as some other reviews had stated, the place was spotless and even had a bottle of wine to welcome us. Hosts were kind, communicative, and helpful. Highly recommend for a cozy stay just outside the city!

Great weekend with girlfriends. We rented a sauna that was delivered to the property and we enjoyed going between the hot tub and sauna during 20 degree weather. The house itself is nice with plenty of space for all of us. It's in the middle of a neighborhood, but has it's own private driveway, so it felt isolated in the middle of a neighborhood. We had a great time!

Beautiful home in a lovely neighborhood, a little far to walk to town in the winter but a short drive to main area. Enjoyed the home and comfortable surroundings. Beautifully decorated. Enjoyed the hot tub! Perfect place for a larger group.

We now stay at this cozy cottage yearly for a family, mother/daughter trip. My husband and I are also interested in staying for our own romantic get away sometime. It is the perfect blend of city perks combined with a wooded, lake view natural environment. We also loved enjoying the huge hot tub outside right in the middle of winter. It was a joy all around that we can’t wait to enjoy again and keep recommending!

Nathan’s place was great! It’s walkable to downtown Stillwater, and the home itself is funky and fun. Nathan was a kind and responsive host, and he accommodated our needs well. Definitely worth the stay. Thank you!

Laura is such a thoughtful and gracious host! The carriage house is absolutely charming - bright, spacious, peaceful, and private. I felt extremely safe and comfortable throughout my stay. A perfect cozy winter weekend hideaway!

Jessica was a great host, very responsive and friendly. She checked in, brought us more coffee and the house was great for a family group. Quiet neighborhood, great view of the lake, comfy beds and furniture. The location was good for us visiting relatives near Ridgedale. We will return. Thank you Jessica.

Perfect little cottage for a couple and a friend to stay in while we attended a memorial celebration of life for a friend who lived nearby. Love the neighborhood -- walking along Lake Harriet, the rose garden and bird sanctuary, nearby restaurants, and the patisserie, which is perfect for breakfast -- all so close. The cottage is simple but comfortable and Sarah is very helpful and flexible, which we appreciated. Must be able to go up and down stairs.

Very cute interior; lots of extra supplies in case we forgot anything. Loved the bathroom!! Quiet; beds were comfortable & nice to have 2 TV’s as my husband & I have different tastes. The only tiny negative is the yard - not really any grassy area for our little dog, but she didn’t mind walking down the block.

Beautiful lake front property with dock, kid friendly, lots of yard for activities. Cabin was super clean and welcoming. Park with on walking distance for the kids. We will book again!

We loved our stay at the AirBnB. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of tools to cook a large dinner. It was super cozy, private and neat to stay in an old farm house. Highly recommend!

What a gem of a cottage . We’ve had the unfortunate task of needing to move out of our home whilst urgent repairs were undertaken, We searched and discovered Carly’s lovely home that was such a blessing especially with our 3 month old baby and beloved cat . The home has everything and made us forget about our issues with our place , so sad to leave but we will be back in the summer . Carly was absolutely stunning and very accommodating to our needs and besides her being an amazing human being, she has a secret weapon in her folks who assisted us and made us feel so homely and welcome . Sincere thanks Carly ! Your home is better than a 5 star hotel !

Our stay went very well. Everything was great and the host provide excellent communication throughout the process.

We stayed at LeeAnn’s place for 3 weeks and it was a great home away from home! It was extremely clean and comfortably decorated. The beds, linens, and comforters were very cozy. The kitchen had quality tools and pans to use. The towels in kitchen and bathroom were high quality. There are hangers and laundry baskets in the closets which was a nice touch. Ample dresser and closet space to put your clothes. There is a fenced yard in the back. The home is in a quiet neighborhood. There are walking paths all around and a park nearby. We also parked in the garage at night. LeeAnn was friendly and very responsive with communication. We’d stay again in a heartbeat.

Travis was a responsive and helpful host. The lake that the house sits on is absolutely beautiful. We will definitely be back.

Adorable home, pictures don’t do the decor justice. Great view waking up to the lake. Had plenty of kitchen supplies so you don’t have to buy all the basics if you’re cooking. Neighborhood was nice, we went for a run in the morning. Reccommend this cute spot!

Wonderful place with fantastic hosts! Guest house was roomy and comfy. Amenities were spotless and very handy. Absolutely gorgeous scenery. Excellent place for our New Year's getaway.

Nice, old house tucked against the bluff near the Mississippi. Easy to find and very quick drive to downtown Red Wing and the Wisconsin border. Spacious rooms, queen-size pull out couch, and a kitchen to cook in were all appreciated. Made for a very nice place to stay! Thanks!

We enjoyed our Minimoon here. Was great. Nothing bad to say, other than we clearly didn’t thoroughly read the posting because we were shocked that it was a guest house! Our fault. But anyway, very clean and nice! Would for sure recommend.

We were looking for a spot several family members could meet over the holidays. There were 6 adults and this house was perfect! Very relaxing, plenty of space and so cozy. We would highly recommend.

It was like speaking the weekend at grandma’s house. My mom loved the bedroom and all the antique furniture.
